An update from Post Office Ltd:
Wadebridge Post Office will temporarily close at its current location on Wednesday 17 June at 5.30pm due to the resignation of the operator of the Post Office. The shop will also be closing later this month.
Earlier this year the Post Office consulted on a proposal to move the branch to SPAR, The Platt, Wadebridge, PL27 7AE, with significantly extended opening hours. We have agreed to relocate this branch, however, this move cannot take place until later in the year. SPAR is very keen to take on the branch, however, due to delays caused by the Coronavirus pandemic the necessary adaptions to the building can’t take place yet.
We have worked with Wadebridge Town Council to provide an interim Post Office solution until the permanent premises at SPAR are available later this year.
A pop-up Post Office is opening at Wadebridge Town Hall early next week. We are finalising the new opening hours for Wadebridge Post Office, but our expectations are that these will be Monday to Friday: 9am – 5pm.
Andy Healey, Post Office Change Manager, said: “The plan had been to relocate the branch to the nearby SPAR store without a gap in service, however, the pandemic has caused an unavoidable delay. We are working with Wadebridge Town council to provide an interim solution. We thank the council for providing space for a pop-up Post Office at the Town Hall. We apologise for the slight delay before the interim Post Office can open. In the meantime, alternative Post Offices include Chapel Amble and St Mabyn.”
The full details of the alternative branches are:
- Chapel Amble Post Office, Chapel Amble, PL27 6EU (open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday: 9am – 1pm & 2 – 5.30pm; Wednesday: 9am – 5.30pm; Saturday: 9am – 12.30pm.
- St Mabyn Post Office, Wadebridge Road, St Mabyn, PL30 3BG (open Monday to Saturday: 10am – 1pm)
